Cycling Holidays UK & Europe – Payment Protection Insurance

In accordance with the UK Package Travel & Linked Travel Regulations 2018, Directive (EU) 2015/2302 or the local applicable law in the country of residence of the passenger(s) booking with Cycle Breaks Ltd are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies received by us, including repatriation costs and arrangements, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Cycle Breaks Ltd.

The respective laws accordingly to the country of residence of the passenger(s) usually only requires us to provide cover for Package & Linked Travel Arrangements. There is no requirement for Financial Protection of day trips or single elements, and none is provided unless the local law requires such. If you have questions on this then please contact Cycle Breaks Ltd.

Cycle Breaks Ltd has taken out an insurance provided by International Passenger Protection Ltd (IPP) with Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe SE. This insurance is only valid for passengers who book and pay directly with/to Cycle Breaks Ltd (trading as Cycle Breaks, Suffolk Cycle Breaks and Walking Breaks).

This Insurance has been arranged by International Passenger Protection Limited and underwritten by Insurers who are members of the Association of British Insurers. The premium is included in the basic cost of our holidays and clients are advised of this cover in their booking confirmation letters.

Cycle Breaks’ Booking Process

Our booking process usually involves taking card details and client permission to take payment of a deposit or, for late bookings, the full balance for the holiday. This is only an authorisation.

We do not take payment until we are able to confirm that the holiday is going ahead and until we have insured client monies via IPP.

We generally prefer payment via bank transfer. As well as bank accounts in the UK, we have local currency accounts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand & USA as well as a Euro a/c in the EU and payments are generally accepted via domestic bank transfers). If payment is made via bank transfer we let the card authorisation lapse and nothing is charged to your card.

We write to advise clients when this is done and clients are able to contact IPP to check that their booking is registered (using their invoice number/booking reference and lead name for their party).
